The dash cam is tested to operate between 5°F and 167°F. Since the camera is turned off while the vehicle is parked, there is no concern about extreme interior temperatures affecting the camera in the summer.

Dash cam laws and privacy rights vary by state. As a general rule, recording video in public spaces is permitted. Audio recording laws vary — some states require all parties in the vehicle to consent to audio recording. You can disable audio recording at any time through the app.

Is the software covered under warranty

The manufacturer provides software updates for the dash cam and mobile app. These are not covered under the Dash-N-Cam warranty but will be made available through the app as they are released.

Yes. Each booking allows one reschedule at no charge even if done in less than 24 hours before the appointment but not after. If you are unable to keep the reschedule, we will cancel the installation and provide a full refund if the cancellation is done 24 hours before the booking date/time.

There is no cancellation fee as long as you cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Cancellation requests made by phone, text or email in less than 24 hours of your appointment have a $30 cancellation fee.

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your dash cam installation within 30 days of service, contact us and we will arrange for the dash cam to be uninstalled and a full refund to be issued. The dash cam must be returned in working condition to qualify for a refund.

A fuse tap is a small fuse connector that safely draws a small amount of power from the fuse box to run the dash cam. It is clean, safe, and does not affect any other electrical system in your car.

Yes. If your car is parked at home, we come to you. Our technician will arrive at your scheduled time and complete the install in 30 minutes.

What happens the day of the dash cam installation

The day before of the booking we will send you a text reminding you we are coming to install the dash cam. You can confirm and reschedule the appointment. If confirmed, the day of the installation you will receive another text to confirm location of the vehicle.

When the technician arrives, you need to open the car and turn it on, leaving the keys in the ignition during the installation.

How do I make sure the dash cam works after installation

When we arrive at your location, our technician will give you instructions how to download and configure the mobile app to manage your new dash cam. After the device is installed, you will connect to it and confirm it is recording footage.

At the start, yes. An adult (18+ years old) with the key/fob for the vehicle will open and run the vehicle before we start installation. We will need to keep the vehicle key/fob during installation, so it is your choice if you want to stay with your car or we can let you known when the installation is complete with a text or a call.

Each clip is tagged with the date and time and stored as an MP4 file with H.264 video compression codec, which is the most widely compatible video format for streaming and playback on PC, Mac, iPhone and Android devices.
